The Ministry of Personnel Management is the central agency of the Republic of Korea Government which takes charge of setting and implementing a variety of personnel policies, such as recruitment, human resource development, remuneration, welfare and pension programs for public officials. In November 2014, MPM was established with the aim of reinforcing personnel innovation to adapt to the rapidly changing administrative circumstances and meet the expectations of the people. MPM consists of seven bureaus and 21 divisions, and the Central Officials Training Institute and the Appeals Commission are its affiliated institutions.
