Purpose of activity restrictions
To prevent retired civil servants from exerting undue influence by limiting engagement in certain activities after retirement and prohibiting official graft
Key features and process
- Activity restrictions: all retired civil servants are prohibited from engaging in any work they have performed directly during their active service, and senior civil servants are restricted from performing certain work for 2 years from their date of retirement / All civil servants are prohibited from engaging in unfair solicitation and arrangement
- Process: The Civil Service Ethics Committee obtains work records from senior civil servants and reviews whether there have been violations of activity restrictions
