Recruitment of Persons with Disabilities
- The employment policy for persons with disabilities is very important in that the disabled are provided with an opportunity to earn an income, thereby enabling an independent economic life and at the same time allowing them to participate in society. In particular, hiring people with disabilities in national institutions is meaningful in that the government not only plays a role as an exemplary employer, but also provides them with an opportunity to directly participate in national administration.
- The Ministry of Personnel Management is continuously expanding the advancement of persons with disabilities into the civil service through separate recruitment and competitive recruitment for experienced professionals with severe disabilities. As of the end of 2022, the employment rate of persons with disabilities in central administrative agencies was 3.66%, exceeding the statutory mandatory employment rate of 3.6% for the disabled in the government sector. In addition, assistive technology devices and labor support services have been provided and mentoring programs for newly appointed civil servants have been conducted in an effort to create favorable working conditions for those with disabilities so that they can demonstrate their full potential in the civil service.
